The Rural Women’s GP Service is a program funded by the Rural Doctor’s Workforce Agency (formerly by the Royal Flying Doctor Service) which enables a female GP to visit and consult in rural and remote areas where there is no resident female GP.
The aim of the service is to ensure rural women have access to and can form a relationship with a female GP to discuss issues they may not feel comfortable discussing with a male GP.
At the Kangaroo Island Medical Clinic we have Dr Kerrie Beecroft visiting under this program for one Tuesday every month. If you would like to make an appointment with Dr Kerrie, please phone the clinic on 08 8553 2037 to do so. Please note that while Kerrie is able to see male patients, preference will be given to female patients first as per program guidelines.
Please note that due to program funding changes, all consults with Dr Kerrie are now privately billed according to the Kangaroo Island Medical Clinic policy (see fees). If you anticipate difficulties with payment, please let Dr Kerrie know during your consult, or discuss with our practice manager.
