Supporting Connection: Welcoming New Health Professionals to Kangaroo Island

At Kangaroo Island Medical Clinic, we know that moving to a new community is about more than starting a job—it’s about feeling a genuine sense of belonging.

In partnership with Rural Workforce Australia (RWA), our team recently hosted a Meet & Greet event for health, allied health, and emergency services professionals across Kangaroo Island. The evening brought together new and established members of the local workforce in a relaxed, welcoming environment designed to foster connection and support.

Initiatives like this play an important role in helping new practitioners settle into life on the Island. By creating opportunities to connect early, we can help individuals feel supported, build meaningful relationships, and integrate more confidently into both the workplace and the wider community.

At KI Medical Clinic, we are committed to strengthening not just healthcare services, but the people behind them. When our workforce feels connected and supported, it benefits the entire community.

We’re proud to collaborate with organisations like Rural Workforce Australia to support a thriving, resilient rural health workforce—and to help ensure Kangaroo Island remains a place where people feel valued, welcomed, and at home.
