Important update regarding fees: our temporary bulk bill guarantee ended on 30th June 2020.
During the period 1/7/20 to 30/9/20, we will be transitioning back to billing of private gaps. In recognition of the financial hardships currently being faced by our community, we will continue to bulk bill concession card holders; children under 16 years; patients at high risk of COVID (as per Medicare guidelines); practice nurse, care plan and GP mental health plan appointments; and review or results appointments requested by a doctor. All other patients will be charged a reduced gap of $30.
Outstanding gaps will incur a $5 late payment fee.
If you are having financial difficulties, please don’t hesitate to discuss confidentially with our Practice Manager of your doctor.
Regular Fee Information
The Kangaroo Island Medical Clinic is a private clinic and as such full payment is required at the time of consultation, either by cash, cheque, Visa, MasterCard or EFTPOS. Pensioners and Health Care Card holders are charged a reduced fee, and Veterans sign DVA service vouchers. In exceptional circumstances, the doctor may choose to bulk bill. Our fees are reviewed each year, and are posted in various locations throughout the surgery. If you have any difficulty paying our fees, please discuss it with your doctor during the consult. Payment plans are available if you are experiencing financial difficulties.
Our standard fees are as follows:
|Consultation type||Full fee||Pensioner||Health Care Card||Medicare rebate|
|Extra Long Consultation||$143.85||$128.85||$138.85||$108.85|
Additional fees may apply for procedures or special consults – please discuss with your doctor prior to treatment.
Any outstanding accounts will attract a $5 per month late payment fee.
Please note some services (such as insurance and pre-employment Medicals, and commercial driving assessments) do not attract a Medicare rebate. A quote for these services can be provided at the time of booking your appointment.
Workcover accounts must be paid by the patient until a claim is established.
