We have received some criticism lately from patients not being able to secure an appointment at the KI Medical Clinic.

We understand that this is frustrating!

KI Medical Clinic is committed to servicing all Kangaroo Island residents.
We are currently working on improving our available services by
• Hiring locums to boost our workforce
• Providing 10-minute script only appointments for repeat prescriptions.
• Actively recruiting GP’s to our practice. We would like to welcome Scott Wines & Zoe Rodgers (KIHS Emergency Only) to Kangaroo Island.
Some things that our patients can do to help are:
• Cancelling unneeded appointments prior to the appointment start time
• Arriving on time for your appointments
• Booking a script appointment in advance when collecting your last repeat from the pharmacy
• Ensuring your details held at the clinic are kept up to date
• Ensuring sufficient time is booked to discuss your medical care

KI Medical Clinic has up to 30 missed appointments per week which significantly decreases the amount of available appointments.
We understand that these things can happen for many reasons, but we would ask that patients notify the clinic if you are unable to keep your appointment time. This will allow us to offer your appointment time to other patients.

Hello Everyone,
We see that there is a lot of uncertainty about whether there is Coronavirus on Kangaroo Island. We have not yet received any information from SA Health. We will endeavor to provide whatever information we can as it becomes available.
In the meantime, we encourage people to wear their mask while not at home and practice social distancing.
Any information that we are able to provide will be posted here on our Facebook page.
Please continue to be kind and considerate to our healthcare staff and one another.

Tested positive to COVID-19?

If you receive a positive COVID-19 test result, it’s normal to feel worried or scared. You will be notified of your result by a SMS or phone call from SA Health and/or the laboratory.

There are some important things you can do to help keep yourself and those around you safe.
▪ After your initial notification, self-isolate immediately. If other people are living in your household, separate yourself away from them and stay in a different room.
▪ Inform your close contacts and advise them to get tested and quarantine for 7 days if they’re vaccinated, or 14 days if not vaccinated since their last contact with you.

A close contact is someone you have had face-to-face contact with where there is reasonable risk of transmission. This will include your household contacts and people you had lengthy social interaction with.

You may be contacted by different people in SA Health who are working together to help support you. This will be via SMS and phone calls.

The COVID-19 Response Care Team will ask you questions about symptoms you might have, your medical history and if you can safely isolate from others. They’ll make an assessment and give you information to help keep you safe during your isolation.

⚠ If you have worsening symptoms such as difficulty breathing or chest pain or have any other medical emergency arise, call 000 (Triple Zero) and ask for an ambulance – tell them you are in isolation because you are COVID-19 positive.
