]Tested positive to COVID-19?

If you receive a positive COVID-19 test result, it’s normal to feel worried or scared. You will be notified of your result by a SMS or phone call from SA Health and/or the laboratory.
There are some important things you can do to help keep yourself and those around you safe.
After your initial notification, self-isolate immediately. If other people are living in your household, separate yourself away from them and stay in a different room.
Inform your close contacts and advise them to get tested and quarantine for 7 days if they’re vaccinated, or 14 days if not vaccinated since their last contact with you.
A close contact is someone you have had face-to-face contact with where there is reasonable risk of transmission. This will include your household contacts and people you had lengthy social interaction with.
You may be contacted by different people in SA Health who are working together to help support you. This will be via SMS and phone calls.
The COVID-19 Response Care Team will ask you questions about symptoms you might have, your medical history and if you can safely isolate from others. They’ll make an assessment and give you information to help keep you safe during your isolation.
If you have worsening symptoms such as difficulty breathing or chest pain or have any other medical emergency arise, call 000 (Triple Zero) and ask for an ambulance – tell them you are in isolation because you are COVID-19 positive.
